i was just talking about da nang today... its" dead" outside of the beach, and the "cham museum" [ boring !] there is nothing for tourist.. now thats ok except if your a tourist!! yes it has great seafood but i never had any bad food anyplace in viet nam... the best thing about da nang is its easy to get to and its a nice "hub to hoi an and hue".. ok there is marble mt but i never seen anybody spend more than a few hours there ...oh yeah a good source has told me they just uncovered a large amount of "agent orange" at the old airport there....

I am in Danang about once a week. There is not much for tourists there but the beach is very nice and extends almost 40 kilometers to Hoi An and Cua Dai. Most people come to Danang as a way station to Hoi An. Hoi An is a World Heritage Old Town and is really beautiful. Many things to do and see with great tailors and a maze of a market place.

so...make a short stop in Danang but go on into Hoi An for fun and good sights. There is a new bar in Hoi An called the Sleepy Gecko. Ice cold beers and great views. Its run by a Brit and he plays great music. The bar has only been around for a couple of months but already most of the xpats hang out there. Amazing food in Hoi An, Cargo Club, Tam Tam, Omars and The Mango Rooms plus many others provide a good broad spectrum of all kinds of food. Some great street food as well.
So. Danang is ok as a place to buy staples and travel through but not a place to spend to much time.

ong jon what are you talking about? Marble Mountains are the best rock climbing place in VN. You must befriend with some locals to get most from one place, you know.
