There is enough information stored about us all even on store loyalty cards so I am not sure why people are against it if its for our security.
I think that the Iris test is another way to catch illegal people on our shores. Benefit offices, doctors, hospitals, dentist employment agencies should all have access to track people that will stop multi claims as most people will need one of these services at some stage.
We have enough legal people that are welcomed into our system to fill all jobs from EU countries.
I often wonder why the human rights PC brigade do not think we should have rights also.
If we wish to go to live in another country we emigrate legally,
I am not saying genuine asylum should not be give if a life is in danger, but these cases are very few. I also do not blame anyone for wanting a better life style but these people should apply through the right channels

No need for finger prints really, just need to take a DNA sample of everybody in the country, and keep it on a database! Anyone who wants to live here should "by law" be made to submit a sample, I've got nothing to hide, but by the same token it may well serve as some kind of a deterrent, to those who wish to commit crime, knowing that they almost certainly will be caught!!!!!

Their nose prints are unique Look at your dog's nose – did you know that there's literally no other nose like it? The nose print of a dog is as unique as a fingerprint, and your dog can be positively identified the same way. The Canadian Kennel Club has accepted nose prints as proof of identity since 1938. Now a company in the United States is offering a product to identify dogs by their nose prints. The company, ID Systems Integrators, developed a system called "Dognose ID" that, according to the Web site, provides a "tamperproof, painless and noninvasive way to provide a permanent record of any dog, anywhere." .

great, not only that, if a crime has taken place and dna has been left but no match on a database a crime could go on forever, if they start taking dna as soon as your born a crime could be solved so much sooner somethings need to be done

I agree. Maybe the government should try chipping people as well. I know Big Brother and all that but it would save a lot of heartache when people go missing ie. The Saga of Mr and Mrs McCann, oh and their daughter Madeleine.
We have to find the lesser of two evils - families going through hell on earth and millions spent on police investigations or politicians being able to see if we're throwing a sickie or not. It's your choice................

So you think having a database of fingerprints will give us information on who is in the UK? God help us all.
You have not followed through on the logistics of the work involved in taking and checking fingerprints. We would need an army for the process and we would get a miniscule number of crime hits.

Well, they might as well, the government already listens to the phone calls of anyone it feels like, will throw people with even the remotest connection to a Middle Eastern country into Guantanamo Bay, and invades a country based on fabricated weapons of the sort our president cannot even correctly pronouce. (Nuclear = New-cle-er...not Nuck-u-ler")

Good idea. They conducted a similar thing in Lincoln, Nebraska with good results. Crime detection went up tenfold.

D - only identical twins have identical finger prints. Fraternal are totally different.
In answer to your question - brilliant idea. Anything to catch naughty and nasty people!
