My personal opinion is that JOHNNY DEPP holds the BMA title! He was (in his earlier years), he is now and will always be the Best Male Actor! He is consistently brilliant on screen from 21 Jump Street to Edward Scissorhands to Astronaut's Wife to Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

Toss up between Crowe and Oldman. Hmmmm...both very good. Unique thing about Oldman is that he's like a chameleon and you may not even recognize him. He practically uses a different voice in every film. Whereas guys like Clooney and Pitt look like themselves in every film.
Another guy who did a great job of that was Val Kilmer in Billy the Kid. he affected such a different posture/body language and accent that you probably woudn't recognize him if you didn't already know.

I think if you look at Russell Crowe's body of work in the last 10 years, it's pretty incredible.
