If you haven't heard the story please read about it. I've signed just about every petition I can find but what else can be done.

This is an example of an overzealous prosecutor, strained race relations, and out of control laws. For those of you who do not know the story, see the link below. Also check out the story on the Jena 6. Although many of the charges have been reduced, the Jena6 teens are all facing significant prison time for what amounts to a high school fight.
http://www.wilsonappeal.com/
Genarlow Wilson sits in prison despite being a good son, a good athlete and high school student with a 3.2 GPA. He never had any criminal trouble. On the day he was to sit for the SAT, at seventeen years old, his life changed forever. He was arrested. In Douglas County he was accused of inappropriate sexual acts at a News Year’s Eve party. A jury acquitted him of the allegation of Rape but convicted him of Aggravated Child Molestation for a voluntary act of oral sex with another teenager. He was 17, and she was 15.
Along with the label “child molester” which will require him throughout his life to be on a sexual offender registry, Genarlow received a sentence of eleven years — a mandatory 10 years in prison and 1 year on probation.
On July 1st, the new Romeo and Juliet law went into effect in Georgia for any other teen that engages in consensual sexual acts. That change in the law means that no teen prosecuted for consensual oral sex could receive more than a 12 months sentence or be required to register as a sex offender.
Had this law been in effect when Genarlow Wilson was arrested, or had been done after the Marcus Dixon case, Genarlow would not now be in jail.
Genarlow and his mother are overjoyed that no one else in Georgia will have to know their pain. In the meantime, however, the legal fight goes on for Genarlow Wilson.
Genarlow has been incarcerated since February 25, 2005.

I'm glad someone is trying to help out ol' Genarlow Wilson.
Who the heck is he?
After reading the posting below with the link, I'm thinking, Darn the luck. If Genarlow had just waited until the July 4th party instead if the New Year's Eve party, to have got his jollys with a minor he would have only got a year in jail instead of 10 years in prison. Darn the luck.

This is a guy who had oral sex with a 15 year old girl. when he was 17. He got a 10 year sentence, then Georgia changed the law from a felony to a misdemeanor if the age difference is 2 years or less. The Attorney General of Georgia says that when he committed the act, it was a felony and he should serve the time. The courts have failed to let him out on time already served. I think that there are worse criminals around who need to take up the space Wilson is occupying now.

Who is he? is that the young boy who had sex with another teenager? if so he has done something that millions of teenagers the world over have done, without having to spend years in prison, I thought he was let out?
Edit: WOW, this a case that should be pardoned by Bush himself, Bush claims to have feeling's and a heart, if so then this is one case he should intervene in, this is an embarrassment to any sane minded law enforcement official.
Set him free NOW I say.
P.S I just signed the petition to set him FREE and I will spread the word.

I can not believe that there are people out there that do not know about this case or would take the time to answer with selfish answers about themselves. Keep praying and all will work out for Mr. Wilson the journey is a long one but everything shall past soon.
