Help with what? He's verbally abusive, not physically abusive, right? So... what are they going to do, keep him from yelling at you while you pack? If you're planning to end the marriage, just leave. Pack up and go, and find a lawyer to start the process of divorce.

If he were beating you, then obviously you would want to go to a battered women's shelter where they could help you, but... if he's saying mean things to you and not physically hurting you, I don't understand why you need to go through an organization. Lawyer up, babe, and move out!

First of all, find your family and without hesitation, leave, if you burned bridges with them. Find a simple job like McD's or something, and quietly save money. Open an account that he can not get to, then build it up as quickly as possible. Be nice and tolerate him, he will never expect it. Once you have enough money, get out of dodge and go to another state if you have to. Heck get on public assistance until you get on your feet, you are young, anything is better than being abused. If he married you, you are obviously worth something, so believe me, someone more manly will come along and treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve as a woman. Even homeless shelters have programs to help women get on their feet. Anything is better than being with an abusive little adult boy.

I am not sure about your state but you need to do this right away. You shouldn't have to take one more day of his abuse! Please look up on the internet different options in your area. There are so many places that will help you. I would try to stay away from anything like a halfway house but if you are in fear of your life- that might be a good option. The YMCA also has programs to help. Please start googleing. I will reserach to and write you back if I find something good. I hope you are ok. Do you have kids b/c that may change where and whom you can get help from. If you have the money go saty in a hotel/motel for rthe next few days until you find a good place to get help. If he is hitting you, etc - call the police! And get a restraining order..... Good Luck!

There are tons of shelters. I believe the YMCA has shelters. You probably could contact any one of them and they could give you the information you seek. A police station may be able to also point you in the correct way to go. But I believe these places are only for physical abuse because you are scared. I am not sure about the verbal abuse, unless he is threatening your life.

Verbal abuse is a recognized form of abuse. If they have a women's shelter through a county agency, call them the director there will give you many insightful tips....options and other resources to pursue. Good luck.

unless he's being physical then there is not much help you can get. if you want to get away from him try staying with a family member or file for divorce.
