Did you embarrass yourself - if so - how?

In my latter days of drinking I always did something that I was embarrassed about. That's why I quit drinking. Like the song goes, "when I drank, I drank to drank"!! I can definitely relate to the movies, "28 Days" and "When A Man Loves A Woman"!!!

A few years ago, I was at a party , though not feeling very well. The host asked what I'd like to drink, and I said, just a soft one for me - I don't want to have any alcohol. He gave me what appeared to be a Coke. I drank it - and a few minutes later I was violently sick and almost passed out. I realised that he had, in effect, spiked my drink. I was disgusted. He is now the mayor of our town, but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
Sometimes WAY TOO MUCH can be just one drink.

I never drink alcoholic beverages of any kind and never have been drunk, and don't like to be around anyone who drinks. I had a sleazy uncle who used to drag his two boys, my cousins, and me to nasty, dimly lit, filthy beer joints where his nasty, dimly lit, filthy friends hung out. This was when I was about 8 years old or so. I decided then I'd never be like the slobbering scum we were exposed to in those dumps.

I think they should do the same thing with alcohol that they did with cigarettes - raise the tax on it so high that people will just quit using it. Filthy habit and deadly not only for those dumb enough to partake but for the rest of us that share the road with them.

In 1977. I was in a pub drinking with my army buddies and offered to take on every solider there. (if you know what I mean). Thankfully I had some good mates who dragged me out of there to a coffee shop and tried to sober me up. That was the LAST time I had WAY TOO MUCH to drink. I dont drink at all now.

Oh yes, I went to a dinner meeting with my then husband and some folks he worked with. I was soo bored I started drinking wine. They were ignoring me so I kept having my glass filled. They only started noticing me when I started getting cigarettes from the waitress. They had to walk me out , someone on each side when dinner was over. I had 3 glasses of wine. lol

It has been quite a while. Probably 6 years or so. I rarely drink anything more than wine these days, and not a heap of that.
