Best reasons are personal. Come to a country with unintelligible texts, very different language, come in January, go to the archipelago -one of world largest -meet the short short winter day, the bluish gray of snow, sea , rocks and pines and the extreme quietness. Come in June with no night at all, the fresh, fresh green, the bonfires by lake of midsummer and excellent sausages to roast there.
Come to listen to music -from Sibelius to Metallica to Nightwish to the Lord. Join some of the Festivals of summer from Baroque music to Opera in Castle (Savonlinna) to dancing Finnish tango,to rock in Down by the laituri (laituri=pier) (www.festivals.fi) come and see where Nokia comes from.
Come and row a church boat -takes 15 to 20 people rowing (=soutu) (Sulkavan soutu (www.suursoudut.net) or row down the river in Satakunnan kansansoutu) or see our 3 medieval castles Turku, Hämeenlinna and Savonlinna or...
There is no end in nature, culture, people -and don't ask the Finns=do you speak English -just ask what you want to know -but slowly!

The capital Helsinki is a beautiful city.
