Herbal supplements are better. Anti depressants have too many side effects so IMO it's not worth taking. St John's Wort appears to be the herbal remedy of choice but I haven't tried it. Someone recommended 5HTP and it worked for me. I hear Yoga's good as well. Most of the time depression sets in after one has been under stress for a while. I use Bach's Rescue Remedy to relieve stress and anxiety.

Yes. It is thee only one that worked for me when everything else didn't. Plus, it is natural---this is the best thing you can do. Take 2400 fish oil caps, 200mg 5-htp(all at night; sleep so,so much better-I took 4 50mg but you can find on iherb the actaul 100 or even 200 bottled), stay away from high sugar foods and high carbs; basic meats, chicken, vegies fruits, is best. Get yourself involved with something (groups or orgs.) if you don't already belong to one. Yahoo groups is a good way to meet up with people and the actual meetup.com is to; you can pick something your interested in and join and usually free if not 5.00 a quarter. Take 30 minute a day non-stop walks. I would say that should help alot...a multi(vegan or food based) is also a good idea to top it off. I hope you have found this helpful; after I had experienced this and found myself stuck...I swore I would lead people onto what worked for me to help out and keep them away from unecessary perscription meds(a money -scam ) all the way around:) Take good care,Missa

The only issue I have with herbal supplements is that they are not regulated. You don't know if what the package says is in something.... is actually in there.
Only buy trusted brands if you still want to try 5HTP.
Good luck!
