why are there so many who have nothing to show for their time here on earth?

All men are created equal....we all start off in the same place ...but somewhere along the way some chose different paths in life that lead us in many different directions and unfortunately not all of us end up at the same place. We are all given the same basic tools to get us through life...some use them wisely...some don't use them at all!!!

It depends upon what drives a man:
Does he endeavor to know & honor that Creator?
Does he want to win the race of possesing the most at death?
Does he think that kind charitable acts are important &/or will earn him points in the life hereafter?
Is his goal to merely survive this life ... perhaps enjoy the here & now with as little effort as possible?
[And so goes on the list of questions.]
Alas, life without God is meaningless indeed.

What you do with what your given at birth is up to you. It has nothing to do with being equal.
Even amongst twins, one will sometimes do better or greater things than the other.

It's not what you have that really matters, what this is referring to is the person's soul... everyones soul is worthwhile and each person is worth being cared about and respected.
