3x^2-x-4=0
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=[-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a
a=3 b=-1 c=-4
x=[1+sqrt(1+48)]/6=[1+7]/6=8/6=4/3
x=[1-7]/6=-1
