Step 1: Subtract 3 from both sides of the equation
5x + 3 - 3= 13 - 3

This will leave you with:
5x = 10

Step 2: Solve 5x = 10 for x, by dividing both sides of the
equation by 5

This will leave you with:
x = 10/5
x = 2

it's 2

5x+3=13
-3 -3
5x=10
divide 5 on both sides
5/5= 0 which leaves the x on the right side
10/5= 2
so x=2

you just have to do the opposite of what is happening on the opposite side
