Unfortunately, it seems that GWB wants to ignore and/or change the separation of powers laid out in our Constitution. His many signing statements to modify laws has been seen as "contrary to the rule of law and our constitutional system of separation of powers".

You really should cite some examples or at least mention the name of the book.

He definately has been expanding the reach of the executive branch, but that has been the trend since the begining. Jefferson even expanded on presidential power. Bush has just taken a rather liberal view of the president being able to ensure the laws are executed properly-as have many before him.

If some of his Executive Orders are challeneged it will become clear whats been going on and Im sure not even a GOP stacked Supreme Court would allow some of them.

Oh my, um um um .kimmy /steelhead. Correction, your facts are
a little flawed. Her are sum factual stats, Bush has cut unemployment benefits for out-of-work Americans more than any president in U.S. history/spent and the surplus several years AGO, bankrupted the treasury/signed more laws and exec orders amending and twisting the constitution, "what remains of it"/dissolved more international treaties than any president in History!/set the all-time record for annual budget spending increases, esp, in his war machine!/only president to withdrawl from the World Court of Law/first president in history to have the most corporate campaign donations/ and one more, "because if i had the time , which i dont, work, there are a few more, first president to unilaterally attack a sovereign nation against the will of the United Nations and the world community in whole. So, check
out other sources of facts before msnbc/fox and other means of news that are not controlled by bushs brother jeff/jeb and giving
you something less than the complete facts, although they may be correct, the MouSe by no means is perfect, and all humans are
subject to errors , not trying to be confrontational, just makes
me angry the irreversable damage thats been done to this once proud country, i mean, do you believe that your votes really counts
anymore. I mean it went electronic, right, i have a friend that was at
the new voting polls, he said these "guys" were changing the software in the machines every hour, there response, a mean demeanor about them and certainly no response! O, one said "get out of my damn way" to my buddy?Unusual for a computer geek? think?

Because certain strategic appointees to the Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Department told him he could, and even gave prior immunity to him and to those he authorized to do things that had been against the law, and will one day again be against the law. It's all been done "in good faith", you know, so it's legal.

He's only extended it as far as Congress and the Supreme Court has allowed him to.

Do you think maybe it has something to do with 9/11 and terrorism?
