I don't know about Louisiana in particular, but, from the webmaster sites of which I'm a member, and in the PC mags to which I subscribe, and in the town in which I live (Santa Fe, NM) Verizon is the best. Too bad, though, it's often the most expensive in alot of ways! And alot more feisty in selection of phones and the compatibility of phone software with the services available online! So, look before you leap!
(I have Verizon. BTW, Verizon full-time internet service for a phone is about $45 a month; for a laptop it's about $80 a month. Compare with much more reasonable prices from Sprint, which is ALMOST as good. And by all means, please avoid AT&T!!!)
