thats basically my question. and can i stop the pill in the middle of the whole 21 days or should i finish it?

so even if i have sex without a condom a day before stopping the pill, i wont get pregnant? ive been taking the pil for 8 months and i tried to quit smoking but couldnt so i was thinking i should just stop the pill and just use condoms...

Why would you need to stop having sex before you stop the pill? It would be easiest on your body if you finish the pack and then stop. But it won't hurt you to stop in the middle, it will just throw your cycle off. If you are planning to try to get pregnant, the doctor will recommend that you wait 3 months to get your cycle regulated before trying to conceive, but it won't hurt if you get pregnant right away. It just makes it easier to calculate your due date.

You should finish the pack, then just not start a new one. This way, hopefully your cycle will stay normal. As for not having sex, why do you think you would need to stop?

The pill is just hormones that effect your menstrual cycle. Its usually considered a rule of thumb that if your sexually active, you should consider yourself pregnant.

You can do whatever you want. To avoid pregnancy you should always use condoms.
