Do you have one? What is it?
I'm think of getting one, a libra sign on the underside of my right wrist, palm side, and maybe a little spider or scorpion on my left leg.

What do you think?

When doing any form of body art, whether tatoo or earrings, makeup, etc. keep in mind two things... you will grow up someday and they are non-reversable & you will find a perminent partner someday, hopefully in a marriage, and you need to consider whether your mate to be will like you with whatever body art you currently have at the time. Lots of the opposite sex are 'turned off' by overdone or obnoxious body art of any kind so use lots of 'wisdom' when choosing a perminent thing of any kind for yourself and consider all possibilities of present and future before taking the step. Also, in the 'real' business world, some body art is NOT allowed by some companies so depending on your career, you could not get a job someplace you would like to work at if the body art is overbearing like nose, tongue or lip earrings. I don't think there is a company out there that will hire a 'salesman' for their products that looks anything but the 'best' to their expected customers. You will never see one visiting a Doctor's Office with their Pharmasuticals with rings on their fingers and bells on their toes as the song goes. And you surely won't see one full of jewelry trying to sell to doctors either. So be wise. That is the best advise. Its no difference than the 'dress code' syndrome. You have the right as a person to dress with your pants half off but now ever some states are passing laws that call seeing the underwear like that an 'indecent exposure' crime. Even if you are in a state that allows it, an employer doesn't have to hire anyone that is half undressed and most reputable companies won't either. Remember that every 'action' will have a 'reaction' and that everything has a 'price to pay'.

Honestly, I think you should wait.

Getting a Sign is like getting a tribal or barbed wire. Very common. IMHO kinda cheezy as well.

Those kinds of tats seem like they are for people who want one but don't know what else to get.

You seem to have a thing for scorpions, so if you have to get one now, I'd go with that.

I got my first at 33, my next at 36. I will be getting another very soon. I use them to mark a transitions in my life. After I decided to get one, I wait a year to make sure I have it fixed in my mind what I want to use to mark the passage.

No neck, no hands, no forearms. You tattoos are for you. You are not a billboard. You show them to the people you want to see them.

My first is a classic - fist in a broken shackel. It is a symbol of defiance and liberation. I got it after I survived a suicide attempt. I had gone through 3 years of sheer Hell, and I needed a way to mentally "end" that period of my life.

The second is a broken sword resting atop a shield with a cross (crusader). It represents seeing something through till defeat. The shield is faith and the sword is defeat. A 13 year situation ended for me. I saw it through to the bitter end and "fell in battle" so to speak.

The third will be an angel. She will have a shield and a sword. She will be an angel of destruction that clears away all that is foul and corrupt.

I feel it is a very personal experience. You are taking something that is on the inside and bringing it to the outside.

When I was 18 I thought they were super cool!

When I was 30 I spend over $2000 getting rid of them!!

If you get a tatoo...

1) Get it in a place that you can easily cover up.
2) Always go to a shop which follows all the health rules
3) Buy a Sharpie and draw one on, if you still like it when it eventually comes off maybe you will not regret it in the future. Maybe!!

Good luck

I have a bunch. Just don't get something off the flash wall. Even if you want something that somebody else might have (like a libra sign or a spider) let the artist put a little of his personal touch in it, so you have an original piece of artwork.

A noble art that has been done well and with good reason in the past, but my view now is that they are for utter saps..

Especially if you don't even know what to get!! It goes without saying that you are just getting one for the sake of it, but did you know that in the UK spiders and spiderweb tattoos denote what prison you have been to and for how long....careful

also, tribal/Celtic/Chinese tattoos were seen as great a few years ago,now they are embarrassingly outdated

Personally, I can't stand tattoos. I didn't mind them as much when they weren't that common. It used to be only rockers, military, and bikers who had them. Now I see 14 year old girls with them. They've gone from being kind of a type of rebellion or a rite of passage to a fashion trend which has really put me off of them.
Get one if you want but keep in mind that it's painful and expensive to get rid of it so make sure you get one you're going to like for a very long time.

I don't have tattoos.

Maybe it's fine, especially if your an artist.
But you have to think about it first and what design.
Because when the time comes that your don't want them anymore tattoo removal are very expensive and is not a guarantee that they will be remove they might even leave marks.

It's nice to have a beautiful skin... a lot of people invest money for that.

But good luck to you...

I have three tattoos. One on my toe (flower), one on my side (heart)and one on the lower corner of my back (star, all very girly, i know). I love them and want more. I will warn you, they are addictive!! I like tattoos on wrists, it looks good. The leg tattoo would be okay if its on your calf, but then you might want something different, maybe a bit bigger. Have fun, you might even want to go to the tattoo artist and give him an idea of what you had in mind and let him run with it.
