All of a sudden my toilet is'nt working right.
Somtimes it backs up . Not to the point it overflows, but it runs almost to the top and starts to go down. Whatever is in the bowl goes down but it is very slow What should I do?

I rent a semi-old house... and the water pressure in the house isn't all that great, so my toilet flush is really weak. Sometimes you can hear the pipes bang inside the walls too.

Toilets in any house could take forever to flush if you have the some other water source on at the same time- i.e. sprinklers, dishwasher, shower, washing machine... etc.

If you own your house, you might consider checking the water pressure psi. Visit your local hardware store and they'll set you up.

If you rent, get the landlord to come check things out free of charge.

I would say you have a clog. Try renting/buying a Closet Auger. This is made to clear the trap in the bowl and not scratch the surface. If that does not work, you will need to have the pipes cleared.

Before you go out and buy an auger try a plunger the ball type,I worked in building maint.for a lot of years and rarely had to use an auger.

sounds like there is a clog in your toilet. use the plunger and see if that helps, if not you might have to hire a plumber or rent a snake thing to clear it.
