Why can you give stars to questions you like and not highlight questions you don't like?

I mean some people ask the stupidest questions, I mean I'm not saying that I ask great questions all the time, but not as bad as some people.

You used to be able to do thumbs up and down on questions instead of stars. It got abused, so it was removed.

Why would you want to not highlight the ones you dont like?
Surely you'd simply want to just forget them?

There is something you can do...You ignore them.
