Buffalo steaks. They were hunter-gatherers. They ate a lot of meat, including buffalo and other antelope that lived on the plains, along with smaller game. They also ate various wild plants that they gathered. They were mostly nomadic, following the game, so didn't practice agriculture on any large scale, but some of them probably planted gardens in the summer.
