however I had been drinking on almost a nightly routine.. and I mean more than just a few drinks... Now Im very worried about FAS and what I have done. I did stop when I found out but still very very nervous. Anyone have this happen to them in the past, how did things turn out?

(never had periods to realize I missed any, and had not gained any substantial weight to think I was pregnant. My first daughter I did not know until I was 19 weeks along, that was 2 1/2 years ago)

The same happened to me. I didn't miss any periods because i was taking my pill all the way through without beaks. I had 3 bank holiday sundays and a week in magaluf befor i found out i was 8 weeks pregnant.

My daughter is now 3 and a half yars old and is perfeclty fine.

I was so worried as well but she is a bright and healthy little girl.

I blamed myself but don't be too hard on yourself, am sure your little one will be fine 2.

Good luck with everything 2.

Holy cow you don't have periods!? (Did you talk to your doc about that?) I don't think that you have to worry about FAS but I would talk to your doctor and find out about tests that you can do to make sure you don't have anything else to worry about. I would say that a way to know everything is okay is to get an amnio done. That will check for everything else like spina bifida, downs among other things. I had one of those done to check for downs. I would definately stop the drinks and start the eating healthy and vitamins. Really thats all you can do. When your body is alcohol free so should your babies. I don't know to much about FAS but that seems like common sense I think. Talk to your doctor and be totally honest and let him/her know your fears.

Unfortunately there really is no way to tell until your child is a little older if FAS is a problem. Since it is not a genetic problem it will not show up on any tests. Just keep an eye on the baby's development as they grow.

My sister did the same thing went out drinking without knowing she was pregnant. She didnt know until she was nearly 6 months though.
Tell your midwife or doc and ask for a scan, I would be very suprised if they refuse.
Good luck
