If anything is a bother, you are likely not taking a path of least resistance. Anything that requires that much effort may not be worth it in the end.

Ensure that what you want is that for which you have direct control. If you want something that I have, I now have control and can frustrate you on a daily basis. Don't allow others to create the frustration or the bother in your life.

Because otherwise you'd be forced to live in hopelessness and mediocrity.

Life is all about just continuing to go forward.

Trust me, if you start wallowing in self-pity or feelings of hopelessness, that tar pit will get larger and larger and deeper and deeper. I did it for nearly three years, finally clawing my way out about six years ago. It was ghastly.

It sounds like a profoundly craptastic Hallmark card, but it's utterly true -- one really can choose to be happy and contented. Even trying to improve ones lot produces a feeling of hope and optimism.

What is it you want? Do you expect someone just to give it to you? Whatever it is, it has to be earned. You can earn it by working hard at an honest job or by committing gross evil. Your choice. Be very, very careful about the latter, though. It is still true: those that live by the sword, perish by the sword.

since nothing matters anyway, you might just as well decide to have as much fun and create as much love as you can while you are here.

After all, what else is there in life that means anything.
