You will meet many people who speak English. During the 70's the medium of education was in English but subsequently changed to Malay. Now the govt. is trying to bring back the language and place more importance on it.

More and more foreign universities hv built campuses in the country. They are conducting twinning courses whereby students can hv their final year in UK, US or Australia. Alot of foreign students from China, Indonesia, India, nigeria, Middle East etc.. go there for their college education.

It is a beautiful country, with friendly people and lots of different types of food. Many beautiful places to travel and explore ... nice beaches too. More so, it is relatively inexpensive place to live.

List of universities/colleges you can find.

Good luck!!!!

It would be very difficult to compare Malaysia with another country in the way you suggest. And anyway, why bother? Malaysia is quite unique in many respects. All countries have good points and bad points. I have visited Malaysia 52 times in 25 years and in spite of some things I do not like or agree with I still find it great. I have made many good friends over the years, and only one or two enemies. I prefer rural Malaysia (Sarawak) to peninsular Malaysia, as the general ambience suits me better. It remains a great place to visit. FYI I live in the UK.

I visited Malaysia in 2005 and most of the Malaysians I met knew how to speak English. Malaysia used to be a colony of the UK, that's why.

I also noticed that Malaysia is a melting pot. The population is made up of Malays, Chinese and Indians. The dominant religion is Islam.
