The Bible says, on the seventh day God created man, but if Dinosaurs were there way before peopkle, which Carbon dating proves, how the f*ck can you beleive the bible that has no prrof or evidence.
Dinosazurs you have the fossils as evidence and the carbon dating as proof they were here befor man, So if on the first day god created light and dark and there was nothing befor that, that means the bible is crap???!!

I asked a friend this once (she's Christian and I'm not sure!) and I'll TRY and tell you what she said. She told me that it depends on whether you believe it is a literal 7 days or did it in fact take (millions of years) longer and hence the existance of dinosaurs. The bible contains all sorts of images and stories that can't be taken literally...walking on water, parting the Red Sea, loaves and fishes being produced from nothing to feed the 5000 etc and perhaps the 7 day thing is the same. The other way of thinking about it would be that if the world was created in only 7 days perhaps the dinosaurs did exist in that time but due to the amout of time they were around in the grand scheme of the universe and evolution etc it is poss they did exist they only lasted for mere seconds of that week?!?!

hmmm,
I'm not a bible basher or a Christian for that matter
but I am a Messianic follower, so,...I'm not sure what you mean by your question exactly. Dinosaurs were actually mentioned in the scripture, are you thinking they weren't. Yahweh/love/light created them along with the rest of life, what did you want to know exactly?
My bonfire is an eternal flame, sorry.
btw animals were created before man
not sure if seven days is litteral (the scripture often isn't)
plus how do you know scientist have all their facts exactly right?

How long is a day to God? Is it a 24-hr period? Is is 1,000 years? In the bible it mentions 1,000 is as a day and a day is 1,000 years. There very well could have been dinosaurs way before man. Faith it's called faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1". We can't and won't always know the exact answer to everything.
Good answer Tefi!!!!!

The question could come better understanding these.
i'm scientist and off course i believe in the whole bigbang theory, evolution and all that stuff because it has been proven, what can i say is that is very likely that God exist but the problem relies in THE BIBLE. many people believe that the bible was made by god and there lies all the problems. THE BIBLE was written by men, in the council of nicea year 325 of our time, Romans compile a lot of scripts, and THEY where the ones that decided what to put there and what not to put there, like the recently discovered Judas Evangelium those kind of stuff where not ment to be in the bible because puts women in a more powerfull position and that wasn't good for the the church, in that evangelium Mary Magdalen was ment to be the one that had the task to build the church but the other evangelist dindn't like that stuff, read HOLY BLOOD HOLY GRAIL it's awesome book. !!!
Well and there is the problem the bible. i'm sorry but it's true wasnt written by god, it was written by people.
The girl that asks about how we evolved from monkeys... well isn't enough evidence that humans and primates share 95% of the DNA ???? when humans share 99% of their DNA between themself. how about the huge amount of fossils??.
Do you believe fossils are invented???:...
God is likely to exist, i wish he really exists for our own good, and he made the universe but we were not created in a blink of an eye, and there was light.... yeap big bang, and on the six day god made man, yeap probably for god 1 day are billions of years for us, billion of years of evolution lead ultimate to mankind, we are made of sand? Yeap. everything in the universe is made of star dust. =). listen to moby song we are all made of stars. It's true you folks. =)
I believe in God, but it's hard for me to believe in the bible, there for i believe in dinosaurs i think they are the ultimate expression of life and evolution i just love dino bones they are the real bible they relate what happened in our world millions of years ago. =).
Carbon Data is accurate, it's bassed on the E=MC´2 formula DISCOVERED not invented.! by Einstein. !! for those of you that dont believe in Einstein either, E=MC´2 means that Everithing is made of energy and that Mass and energy are one and the same, this was proven by marie curie and she didn't knew it, she discovered that Radium the element produced energy from nowhere something like 1gr radiated tons of energy, this principle is applied to carbon data, later it was proven that Radium produce that amount of energy because of E=MC´2 but it loss certain amount of matter in time, that's how we know dinosaurs live and exists millionsof years ago. =) thanxs Carbon 14. it is the greates calendar we have ever discovered.

There is no need for explanation. Dinosaurs are described in the Bible. They simply became extinct like many other creatures, other dinosaurs are still alive like the komodo dragon.
Edit 1: Anti-Creationists blindly accept carbon dating and use it as the foundation of many of their arguments.
When you measure anything, you must first have a known measurement, or a "standard". When calibrating a measuring instrument in machining, we calibrate to the known standard of the inch, when we step on the scale, it is the pound.
The funny thing about carbon dating is that in order to calibrate anything, they need a known, however there "known's" are simply guesses (since they can not go back in time to gain reference) , and their guesses are biased. Carbon dating proves nothing. Making this the foundation of your argument weakens the argument immensely.

Mostly I hear that christians dont believe in science and believe that carbon dating is not acurate, so there may well have been dinosaurs but not millions of years ago...I mean that couldnt possibly have been right, not if the book that so many people rely on for guidance is right too

Sorry you got pushed on. My explanation for the dinosaurs is that the "seven days" God used to create all the animals, was not equal to "seven days" as we see it now. When you create something, you often have attempts which don't work out, and are often "revising" your creation until it's what you like, or wanted.
I believe that "creation" as described in the bible is the same thing as "evolution" as discovered/figured out by Darwin. I also believe that we are arrogant to think that we could know better than God how he designed his own creation. It's arrogant to believe that God wouldn't/couldn't think of putting "survival of the fittest" into his creation in order to sustain it.
Sorry that person offended you. Take it as a compliment. They liked you enough to want to "save your soul." lol. Some people just can't help themselves.

As a Christian, I can sympathise with you about how you feel about having a Bible pusher foist their opinions on you. To them, they are just doing what God has asked them to, and somewhere along the line, what they say may get someone more interested, but I feel it tends to put people off. I cannot answer for how the church sees the whole evolution and dinosaur thing, but speaking personally, and coming from a non-Christian, scientific family, I have had my troubles with this one, so I asked God for some clarification. Over time, I have come to believe that if God had told the whole story in the Bible, about dinosaurs and all the other evolutionary links, man would have run to the hills screaming. It would have been information overload. He tells us what we need to know, particularly with reference to what we need to know to further our relationship with him.
Dinosaurs were around way before man, although recent evidence suggests there may well have been some overlap. We also know that our forebears were not as developed as us, so these types of early man do not seem to have a place in the Bible. The hard thing about the Bible is that some of it is factual and some of it is allegorical. The faith bit comes in accepting that the allegorical bits are there to illustrate to us things which we (or certainly man 2000 years ago) may not have understood if we had been given the literal real story, and accepting that the Word of God is truth itself. God cannot lie. If you believe in Him, then you accept he cannot lie. This causes much confusion. But I believe that when God said he created in seven days, I think maybe he is using that as seven stages. I believe that Dinosaurs were one of those stages, when He says He created the creatures on the land and the sea.
Like Christianity, it comes down to a question of Faith, which is personal and cannot be imparted onto someone else, no matter how much one talks of Jesus and the Bible, either that person has faith, or they do not. I have only told you what I believe, not what Christians believe, I know others who think this way, but the way I see it, God's promise is our future, not our past. I find the past, history and pre-history, fascinating, and much of it helps us understand our world around us, we have evidence of Dinosaurs and early forms of Man existing, and although there are theories with supporting evidence about Biblical things, most of it is accepted on Faith, which is the whole basis of belief. Jesus says blessed are those who believe but who have not seen first. I hope this helps answer your question as to how if one is a Christian, how do we explain dinosaurs. God bless.

My mom doesn't believe in them. She claims that scientists created them...wtf! She's been to museums and seen the skeletons but she thinks the scientists made the skeletons too. Oh it's so frustrating that she honestly thinks these things. She also doesn't believe that a river made the Grand Canyon, God did. I tell her that God made it by making the freaking river. These are the only things that we argue about but damn it's just ridiculous.

what the hell have dinosaurs got to do with believing in God. should your question be directed at christian fundamentalists who believe that the earth is only a few thousand years old. most christians believe in dinosaurs and God, its not a great leap to make, so tell the numpty who's been spouting rubbish to you, to get a clue!
