insects eat in many different ways. Look at some kinds of insects you should know: mosquitoes, butterflies, ants.
They all eat, but they all eat different things and in a somewhat different manner.
What do (female) mosquitoes eat? And you should have a good idea out of personal experience how they eat. Look up websites like this:

Look up "butterfly mouth parts" and "ant mouth parts" yourself, that will give you an idea about various possibilities of how insects eat.

Insects have mouths, just like we do, except they are called mantibles, the teeth on them are vertical, unlike ours being horizontal.

With tiny cutlery- working from the outside in. I believe they have trouble with the Fish fork though.

with there mandables it is a little jaw that moves side to side and mushes it up
