Yes. I believe that one of the grounds for divorce or annulment of marriage is the inability of a spouse to bear a child. The law recognizes the need to perpetuate the species.
Dura lex, sed lex. The law may be harsh but it is the law.

Yahweh put a lot of His ways into our families, especially behaviour, to show us the way. If your dad told you to stop playing loud music as a kid, he would probably give you a few chances but thereafter he would punish you with ever increasing harshness until you stopped. Anything wrong with that picture? So when you father in heaven tells you to stop something you are doing wrong, He will eventually eject you for not obeying His house rules while living in His earthly house and you certainly won't get to live in His heavenly home. Anything wrong with that either? Now take a look at the list of the house rules - the 10 Words or in our terms, the commandments - all of them, including number 4. As for number 2 - caring about everything - that is a commandment - not a nice to have. As for the man who visited heaven: standing in a church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in an operating theater makes you a surgeon. Thus if his wife went to church for 200 years it still doesn't make her a Christian. Our Father in heaven has given us many free gifts to assist us in living the way He wants us to live including baptism with the Holy Spirit which is ours for the asking as adults. So we have His real-time guidance and protection - we will know what to do and when to do it. Certainly not because she didn't read part of the bible but because she didn't really rely on Jesus for everything! Too many people only go to church because it makes them feel good rather than establishing and maintaining a relationship with Jesus. I have been a proper Christian for decades and have never been religious which is the main problem with so-called self-professed Christians. Religious folk do deeds which they believe will please our Father. Real Christians will always only react on the bidding of the Holy Spirit because we know that obedience - the theme accompanying the story of Jesus throughout the bible - pleases Him. Take communion daily in the privacy of your home and draw closer to Him. Maybe you didn't know that there are 4 reasons for doing so every day?

Some cultures believe in more than one wife, but I don't think it would go over real well in America. Sorry Sandstorm, but it would be very hard to share my husband with another woman.

I think it should be legal regardless of the reason. : ) .
I wish it was legal and that my wife wouldn't mind.
As far as not being able to reproduce, there are so many alternatives , like adoption or invetro fertilization etc. , that it should have no bearing, forgive the pun.

I think that should go both ways since there are men who can't get women pregnant, too. Marriage vows say for better or for worse. Don't remember seeing or hearing anything about getting another if the first isn't perfect. We all have things in life that are upsets, you learn to deal with them.

If you support that train of thought then if the husband is sterile or impotent then the wife can have a second husband.
