i would prepare my self for some dishes cleaning...!!
no seriously, i would take my best friend aside and tell him to give me the money and i give it back to him/her later... and that actually happened to me once, and i was extremely embarraced... but i'm so comfortable with my friend that i found it easy to tell the truth...!!
thanx... love you all

I would ask to speak with the manager and when he/she got to my table I would step aside with him/her. I would explain my situation and see if he/she would allow me to leave so I could go home and get my wallet, credit card, money whatever the case would be. Natuarally I would hopefully provided enough info so that he/she knew I wasn't trying to scam the place. WORST case scenario, I'd come up front to my invited guest and ask for help with the knowledge that they would be paid back every penny this evening or the next day. If they are truly friends they will understand.

What can you do? You'll have to explain the situation to your friend and ask if they can pay, promising to repay him/her or take the bill on the next meal. If your friend is in the same situation as you, many restaurants will allow one of you to drive back home to get your money as the other saves the table.
If all else fails... run!

beside the fact that I would be totally embarrassed, I would quietly ask the waiter to speak to the manager, ask to use the phone call my bank and see if the restaurant if they can take credit card over the phone, as with my bank, I can authorize them to charge over the phone.
if not I would turn to my friend and ask them to cover the bill until we got home as I had forgotten my wallet and then just pay my friend back when I got home

Well, since I don't have money in the first place.... Can I borrow some 20 dollars?
Ha, ha, I would simply ask them. And if they were my nice friends then they wouldn't mind, but of they were my oldest brother then he would do it, but he would HATE it. He is really cheap. =(

invited them doesn't mean I have to pay for the bill. Ask one of your good friend to pay first.Simple? If they refuse to lend a helping hand ..what's the point of keeping in touch with these people?

If they are your true friends, you will be able to explain this and let them know you will pay them back the next day. Do lots and lots of apologizing.
