It literally comes down to where you live in the UK. Every county and Primary Care Trust (NHS) is different. The only way to find out what you personally are entitled to (as every person is different too) is to go and see your doctor who will refer you to a fertility consultant.
There are general guidelines which are that every woman over the age of 36 should be entitled to IVF on the NHS. How long you have to wait, and how many goes you can have is the bit that varies. Could be 1, 2 or 3 goes, could be a 2 year, 3 - 5 year wait...
The fertility consultant will ask lots of questions about your sexual history before and with your current partner. You will have had or be asked to have blood tests to check your hormone levels and he will be asked to have his sperm tested. You may also be asked to have an ultrasound and swabs taken. Only then will they decide if you are eligible for IVF on the NHS.
Hope this helps!

the nice guidelines state that you should get 3 goes at ivf free on the NHS, but unfortunately this isn't the case all over some people only get 1 free go others get 3 gos also the wait for ivf can be anything from 2 - 4 even 5 years (it's also worth bearing in mind if you do decide to go privately if your entitled to 3 courses of ivf you will only get the amount you haven't had so if you had one go privately then came to the top of the nhs list you would only be able to have 2 gos instead of 3 because you went private for it (bloody idiots)
the guidelines for getting it are also very strict and set out by your pct (primary care trust) such as age, bmi., etc etc it bloody ridiculous the only way to know is by contacting your own Dr and should be able to tell you what the certain criteria of getting it in your area.
obviously you would need to investigate as to why your infertile, weather it was the tubes pcos, endo, etc or weather it was the partners sperm or it could be unexplained.
it's also worth bearing in mind that for most couples it is a last resort and all other viable treatment options should be tried first, such as clomid, iui, etc

I'm not sure if its relevant, but I was watching a TV show on infertility and IVF treatments in the UK and there were women that donated eggs from their treatment and got more goes at IVF. You would have to speak to your doctor about IVF and the NHS to get really accurate information. I do know its a long waiting list so I would get started ASAP.
Good luck

You can have as many attempts as you can pay for . Ivf is not free (even on nhs) for all patients there is certain factors that you have to fall into to have free course of treatment and then its only one course free in most places.
Your age - previous children you or partner have - medical conditions all come into the equation.
There is normally tests that you go through before ivf to see if your suitable .
Blood tests - sperm tests - scans - tubes checked etc
There is also a long waiting list it best to have advice from your doctor as its a very stressfull and invasive procedure with no 100% quarentee of sucess.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Indian Med Guru Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Indian Med Guru Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

Me and my husband would have a 7year wait in our area to get treatment and it is only 2 chances!!!!!!
They will see you for a consultation and run tests like when you are on your period just to see how many eggs are released and to see what the problem is. They also have to do a blood test then while you are on the waiting list you have to go every so often to have check ups to make sure you maintain your weight and that what ever the issue is dosnt get worse.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant herehttps://tr.im/RoQ8Y

eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.
