I agree with cadaholic - only a pay site will guarantee quality and no viruses and stuff.
if you have anti-spam software installed and a good complete antivirus program you can use some of the freebie sites but after downloading check the file before using.

Contacting the companies that release the movie in your area might lead to a greater understanding of where you might download a copy. I doubt that many will do so though as they make their money by selling their product rather than giving it away. To download a copyrighted work without permission would be illegal in most cases.

You really can't depend on any sites that give you free movies, torrent or otherwise. They are mostly likely trying to download malignant software onto your computer. But sites where you pay for movies should be reliable.
