I think it has made some people aware, which means it has done its job. I know I will think twice before just binning everything-so if it even happens to 1% of the populatrion, then the rubbish will be 1% better.
I am NOT and have never been eco friendly, but I wont throw my phone away now..I'll sell it..ha ha, but seriously, it was to sway the people who had thought about it but hadn't acted, and to make some aware of the situation. Think it helped a little. Hope it's not as much as a flop as Jamie Oliver's school dinners

1) Be vegetarian 2) Use mass transit or walk whenever possible 3) A LOT of deforestation occurs to produce cotton. If possible, try to find shirts that use as little as possible (this is virtually impossible with pants/shorts, and 60% is usually the minimum you'll find with shirts 4) Take short showers 5) If you can, buy food at local farmers markets 6) There are some companies that will plant a tree if you pay an extra dollar at the time of purchase (of one of their products). Take advantage of this. 7) Don't print something unless you have to. And if you do have to, double-side the paper (even if somebody yells at you for doing so). 8) Recycle (what exactly you can recycle will vary by community). Take note of the recycling company in your area and go to their website. 9) Remember that it's REDUCE, then REUSE, then RECYCLE. Reducing waste should be the first thing you do. 10) Compost if where you live permits it.

I think it's good to rub it in our faces and point out the fact that there is no 'away' the planet is a closed system....
It's a good tool to increase awareness I suppose, but some people are just too stupid and stubborn for their own good...
Saying that, the consumer gets too many guilt trips already. I think the onus should be on the manafacturers to reduce packaging and use the same materials so recycling is easier for the consumer.
Sooner or later it won't be a choice as to whether a reality TV show will make a difference. Society should try and think a bit more long term...

I watch it later so I can watch Hell's Kitchen first. Jermaine makes me very angry. I was interested in the bit about all the plastic containers. So, we learn, as they are all made from different types of plastic ,we're virtually wasting our time re-cycling them. This morning I asked my re- cycle man if it was true. He told me that UK ship them all out to China where they put them into 'like' piles take off the labels and lids and then put them in their own landfill sites !! Rather odd !! As we are losing so much of our coastline now it may be a good idea if we built some new sea walls and filled the gaps with all the plastic milk/coke bottles. As they are non-biodegradable then surely there would be no more erosion

Only ever seen a little bit of it and was put off by the Moaning football wannabe idiot who just sat about making excuses like a stupid teenager!!
What a wally!
Think you know who I mean, he spoilt the programme so I switched over.
Personally I am quite environmentally sensible and don't think this programme will make others change at all.

I only saw the first one as I then switched to Hell's Kitchen. I think it could make people think of what they are doing and I hope people would make an effort after seeing the programme. I am a 'green' person and I recycle as much as I can but I know I could do even more. It is after all about saving this ailing planet of ours and global warming.

Ive been watching as well!
Its def made a difference to me i will think twice about what I put in my rubbish!
I was shocked to see the amounts of good stuff people throw out.
One mans junk is anothers treasure!
I ve been sorting out stuff to take to charity shop instead of putting in my bin so id disagree, I think some viewers will do things differently
The footballer guy made me angry tho wirth his comment about giving him respect. The whole arguement was about him not respecting others I wanted to knock his block off!

I think it has made people more aware of what goes on with rubbish,it's made me see that alot of stuff can be recycled and i will always be making sure i recyle what i can. Also it has shown people what a landfill is,as someone on the programme said they had never heard of a landfill before. It's also shown people that you don't have to throw everything away, there will always be someone out there who will make use of things.

I can't see it making one bit of difference to the viewers - if they want to make an impact, they should show the children in schools what happens to our rubbish and tell them what we should be doing. All it does to me is annoy me that I pay for my rubbish to be taken and get told what I can and can't put in my bin.
I'm watching it purely for entertainment - although I did learn that the hot water tank we chucked out, could have earned us money if we had sold it to a scrap merchant....lol

I'd like to think it would!
In this day and age, there's no excuse for people not recycling and looking after our planet! If we can't do our bit to look after the planet, then why are we having kids, just to make them live on a heap of shite that we created?
