the phone just keeps ringing and ringing and then cuts off. I bought some stuff from there, about £1500 worth about 2 months ago and paid extra for delivery, it has still to arrive, no one has contacted me about it and I cannot get through to the store. My builder has had to go out and get the things himself that I ordered, so that he can finish the job. Firstly, is anyone else having these problems with B+Q and secondly, when the items eventually come, am I within my rights to take the things back that I had to buy again?

well, next problem, i cant really go down there easily, because the only reason i went there in the first place, was that the croydon one was flooded out and i needed to get the stuff bought to qualify for the 15% discount they had at the time. never, again, i will get the builder to get stuff in future, they can get it cheaper anyway

had a similar problem with the same B & Q not so long ago (I'm in south darenth) they delivered ok but when the builder checked it half the stuff was missing and some that had arrived was incorrect.
He took all the incorrect items back along with the delivery note / order form to demonstrate what hadn't arrived. Took him a while but eventually left with everyhting he needed. Go there (or ask the builder to) and speak to someone on the customer services desk. Provide details of the items you have had to rebuy for a refund and badger them into doing what you've paid them to do. Above all though keep your calm, don't let them rattle you and dont let them fob you off

Go to DIY.com (this is B&Q) click on help then contact us.
The people instore do seem to be up themselves it must be the culture of the place. There is a lot of dashing around with bits of paper or doing shelf stacking.I've stood next to two assistants waiting to be noticed & before I could speak whoosh they were gone .Having said that I have always had the right stuff delivered on time .You need to bypass the store & get farther up the line

I'm in the US, but the same issues exist here. I empathize, but have no real solution,,,sigh.
For one thing; our society has become Slaves to, and Dictated in our existance by; technology; and the desire; through greed; to have fewer REAL PEOPLE "minding the store"
My most frustrating experiences happen On the phone, when I get the automated voice and menu selection suggestions. I no longer use my cell phone to connect with businesses.
I did manage to acquire, a couple of years ago a 4 page list of companies; their usual phone numbers; and suggestions about alternatives to ACTUALLY connect.
It seems sad to me; after being in the trades most of my life, that we have to submit to this; but again; I have no real solutions. I don't strictly mind being "NEXT" but if one tells me, "HOLD PLEASE" I'm gone.
I wish you success.

whenever i go into a B & Q there is only one or two people at the tills, with about 30 people waiting to be served.
yet there are staff in the isles with thier finger up thier backside.
if this is there customer service standards then i am not surprised you can't get through.

B an q are the same every where - costumer service is shocking- complain- complain complain- until people do- it will remain a problem. The "NOT" answering their telephones- is to put you off complaining- because you think "I am not getting anywhere - so Whats the point"- lv Jo xx

you have 2 b very careful with what u buy
iwould never recomend b+q kitchens, or fitters
also their sanitary (white china) goods go through poor quality checks.
getting spares is a joke.
yes they seem cheaper but if u cant get the spares in the end it costs .
never pay up front ,never

Why don't you go down there and speak to the manager, I am sure that he will want to help resolve your problems? Or, contact their head office, they presumably have a customer services help desk, have you tried looking them up on the net?

Legally they are in breach of contract.
Have you paid for the goods? If you have, write to B&Q and ask for your money back.
If not, refuse the delivery if it ever comes.
