Thank you grannygrunt28391. I am forming the character of a brand new garden here: I wonder if future visitors will appreciate my handiwork?
Funnily enough, my housemate, who has taken no interest in the garden thus far, berated me the other week for slinging my nasturtiums in the compost bin because they were no longer lovely: I never knew he cared!

Big Wullie: I have a proper birdtable but had to take it down whilst lawn was being created. Landlord is going to make a proper base for it but in the meantime there's a mop handle with feeders on hooks. I'm getting the birdbath tomorrow- I've decided!

They are well worth the money time and effort.
It's a pleasure to watch our feathery friends splash and thrash I have 3 of them plus a garden pond. They actually sit on the lilly pads and splash.

A bird table in a garden will prove a great attraction, particularly during the winter when food is scarce. Generous feeding in severe weather to together with a "constant supply of unfrozen water" - often saves the lives of birds which might other wise perish.
