Go see your primary care physician first for several reasons.
1. Some insurance companies will not pay for you to see a specialist without first being referred to one by your primary physician.
2. Most primary care physician charge less and can usually have your results much faster.
3. Primary care physicians usually have most of your medical history already and can pinpoint or narrow down some of your problems.
4. Most people don't see an urologist for urinary problems unless the problem is severe. Most patients that see urologists are having prostate problems, male reproductive issues, cancer, or serious illnesses or disorders such as cystitis, kidney stones or prostatitis or complicated urinary problems.
. A simple urinary tract infection, kidney infection or bladder infection would best be attended to by a primary care physician.

A simple check up and U.A. will be sufficient if it is only caused by a bladder or kidney infection. but if there is the possibility of it being something more serious, then I would go to the urologist.

You can go to your regular MD or primary care physician. He/she can just give you a blood test where you pee into a cup. They can spot blood in your urine right away and they can give you an Rx right away. I presume you are talking about urinary tract infections.
