Hello,
I have heard and seen ppl use 1/2 quart of tranny fluid to a tank of gas in a *fuel injected only* vehicle. I already know it wont harm the engine as ive witnessed it numerous times so please dont anyone reply with the usual "OMG DONT PUT THAT IN THERE!!! itll kill your engine!!!" which is usually based on opinions and not personal experience. My question lies as follows.. What advantages are there of using the correct ratio of tranny fluid to gas as compared to using say "sea foam" or any other fuel injection cleaner? Also has anyone found the tranny fluid to work better?
Thank you
PS.. I didnt try to come across as a jerk but with every question Ive asked I always get someone who is trying to be the smart one and using opinions to say " NOOOO thats bad" just wanted to let you know that no i will not be swayed from using it but if theres a better alternative with some other fuel additive Id compare the 2 and come up with a conclusion.. Thank you once again

not to sound like an *** but I already said I know it wont hurt the engine, ppl are replying with it clogging stuff and thats based on personal opinion by people who i know have never even tried it *they even stated such*. All I wanted an answer to was if there was an advantage to using the tranny fluid as compared to the known good fuel injector cleaners.

It won't kill your engine but it'll foul the plugs, it'll choke your exhaust and produce white smoke.
You will not gain anything but over time your car will become sluggish as the valves get choked up, fuel consumpion will go up as a result, emissions will also suffer.

Transmission Fluid In Gas Tank

I never heard of it going into the gas i usually put seafoam in the gas tank, but Transmission fluid is composed of high detergents and cleaning agents so people and i have been using it as an engine cleaner, i pour in quart into the engine and let it run for 10 mins then drain it, it came out so black!...But with the tranny fluid in the gas it probably works but dont do it all the time u'll create unwanted leaks especially in the fuel lines, it will work the same as seafoam since seafoam is a detergent as well, just spend the extra 2 bucks and get the right cleaner for ur fuel to b safe from leaks and do it only every 3000 miles otherwise ull be changing sparkk plugs every 8000, sorry for the bad grammer its early and i cant sleep haha

Seafoam Transmission Treatment

If you have a converter in your exhaust system AT fluid will permanently "lowse" it's ability to ever work again. This I know as a fact as our company makes ceramic sub-straight material for both gasoline and diesel engines. I spent 37 yrs. there before retirement.

I've honestly found that 3M Total Fuel System Cleaner safely cleans throttle bodies, fuel injection nozzles, carbon underneath valves and combustion chambers.
