Well, there's Walter, of course. You sure got the best of him, though. Marten; John Farson; Sylvia Pittston; Enrico Balazar, and his hired goons; Andrew Quick, and his goons, especially Gasher; Richard Fannin; Blaine; Eldred Jonas; Clay Reynolds; Roy Depape; Sheriff Herk Avery, and his deputies; Fran Lengyll, and his ranchers; Coral Thorin ... even Eddie Dean and Detta Walker, at least at first. I suppose that justifies a little paranoia.
I cry your pardon, sai, for my incomplete list, as it's been years since I read the first five, and I'm now ¾ of the way through the fourth (again), so I can go on to the last two. Can't wait! :)

That would be Randall Flagg, known by many names...Walter, Marten, "The Man in Black", etc.
He is a henchman of the Crimson King and currently resides in the tower that you seek.
The Crimson King is the main player though. He sends everyone to oppose you.
