Im with Johnny Walker.......a good smack normally does the trick.....i know people who just walk closer and closer to the tv whilst repeatedly pressing the button until finally they are so close they can just change channel manually.

the batteries are only 9 years old, theres plenty of life in them yet.

Oh, my, I do that all the time! Somehow banging it make it works. And if it didn't,I will take out the batteries and put it back and somehow it works!
