Many people think Michael Vick should not be punished for his dogfighting ring. If cokkfighting is illegal and dogfighting is illegal, why do people think he should get off with no punishment? Others have been put in jail for cokkfighting.

There are only a 'select few' who think Michael Vick should not be punished. These people have an 'agenda' of their own, and are not to be taken seriously.

Anyone in their right mind would demand that Vick pay the penalty for his disgusting choice of ENTERTAINMENT and if you take a look at the polls the majority does NOT want to see him return to the NFL.

You people STILL DON’T GET IT.
PETA and you dog lovers made it about dog fighting.
The federal government went after him for GAMBLING and running a Gambling Ring; which begs the question, if it were just nickel and dime and no high profile name was involved, would they have cared?
The cockfighting thing is similar in that they weren’t going after them for cockfighting; they went after them for GAMBLING and running a GAMBLING RING.
Sometimes I too feel as though some like those that have celebrity status should be held to a higher standard; but no; he nor any other celebrity should be held to a higher standard…just the SAME STANDARD as you or I will do.
And amongst themselves, celebrities that is; why should the ‘Book’ be thrown at Michael Vick for gambling and animal abuse when other celebrities risk the lives of others by driving while intoxicated; some even being caught with drugs and get the proverbial ‘slap on the wrist’?
I’d just like there to be at least a semblance of fairness.
And while we’re on this subject; who are the other high profile names that were involved with the gambling on the dog fights and did they have and bring their own dog(s) to fight or did they just bet on the dogs that were there that others brought to fight.
Or should I be naïve enough to believe that Michael Vick MILLIONAIRE was running a gambling ring for and gambling with just “PO FOKE?”
As Arsenio (Hall) would say, things that make you say…hmmmm”

Annit BETnot be no white boys involved. LOLOLOL.

Now on a FOOTBALL NOTE; I’m tired of hearing the guys on ESPN declare New Orleans the winner of that division ’07-‘08.
I STILL think that Atlanta can and will take that division this season.
I even believe that Joey Harrington gives them a BETTER chance than they had with Vick at the helm.
What’s the difference between Vick and Harrington you ask?
FOUR INCHES.
He won’t be dwarfed by the Olinemen(they got some big and TALL boys on that Oline) and he’ll see better when the receivers get open and get the ball to them and not have to take off running all the time.
Can you imagine how frustrating that is to a receiver to be WIDE AZZ OPEN only to look back and see his QB running the ball instead of throwing it to him?

Vick should be punished the same as every other convicted felon, since that is what he is now. People like to defend him because he was a Famous QB. Oh and "he was only killing mean dogs" is the defense of him now? Well your logic has more holes the swiss cheese when you remember that HE WAS BREEDING THE DOGS, AND TRAINING THEM TO BE MEANER. Pit Bulls are a mean breed by nature. So is a Rottie, and I had a friend with a Rottie from the time it was a puppy. Dog knew me while it was growing up. Nice dog too. Now I wouldn't have trusted it if I didn't know it because it was raised basically as a guard dog. It was fine with me because it KNEW me and TRUSTED me. Pit Bulls can be fine for the most part if trained that way. They still have something of a killer instinct, but that is THE POINT in having them as guard dogs.

Michael Vick has already pleaded guilty to dogfighting and should be held accountable for his actions. Just because he is famous does not excuse his behavior. Many other "celebrities" have committed crimes and done the time and he should be no exception. However, like all ex-cons, he should not be denied employment simply because he did time. Crime, then time, then rehabilitate!

Because you have companies here in this country that sponsor animal cruelty on a much grander scale and no one is going after them. Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sony, Toyota, any computer, hell all of your cell phones you use is manufactured in countries that have serious animal cruelty issues, but PETA isn't taking on these people. Why not? Why aren't they trying to put the owners of these companies that live in this country in jail?

Hell, I think celebrities should be held to a HIGHER standard because people see them and should know what's right & wrong and see that in this country it's "justice for ALL."

Only in the USA do we have such conflicting morals. This is the greatest country in the world dispite all the idiots running it. He was only killing mean dogs. I saw pit bull yesterday on my bike ride, and I wondered if he came after me how I would get away. I thought that dog needs to die.
But he was only killing dogs not like he was killing babies. See the irony, its ok to kill a baby in a Mother's womb but dont kill them chickens or dogs.
