Evolution is descend with change. Even all our consumer goods have evolved. Look at the cars. The first model of the car and the present day cars are so different not only in looks but in terms of function, efficiency and comforts. But there are all sorts of vehicles n the road. each one is specialized for different roles. Some are sedans, some are sports coupe and some are SUVs and then there are trucks, buses and earth movers. Each one has evolved to do better in survival and to survive competition. Some evolutionary changes in organisms make them survive the bad conditions, others make them more adapted to a specific habitat like desert or water and others make them adapt to changes (winter and summer). Evolutionary changes that are good are selected by nature and those that are not good are rejected (animals do not survive) by nature.

There is no "need" to evolve--it's a natural consequence of various forms of adaptation pitted against each other in the struggle for survival. The consequences of evolution are adaptations that can adapt better to their environment. So it is better for organisms to evolve. But organisms don't have an innate need to--it's just inevitably more beneficial to evolve.

Organisms need to evolve in other to become more adapted to their environment and habitat. When you keep on applying pesticides to a particular group of pests you will be able to kill a lot of them but with time some will evolve to become resistant to that particular type of pesticides you've been using on them,by being resistant to the pesticide means that the pesticide has little or no effect on them anymore in other words meaning that the pest has evolved to become more adapted to its environment.
