Good question. I had it also in my mind long before but i always forget to put it into a question in this site. Good you already ask this!

On my view, people ask questions even if they have already an answer in their mind because they wanted an assurance of their own answers. I for one wanted an opinion or another idea to the questions. Some are looking for other's views on a certain question.

Others are for curiosity, agreement or disagreement to a preposition. Some just wanted to know a personal feeling on a given problem.

Have a nice day!

people can do this for several reasons. validate their answers. the answer they have maybe incomplete or partially true .but many times as happens in yahoo answers they do it because they think the answer they have in mind is great, and they just want to see whether nybody else can come up with a better answer. and mostly they are so sure of the superiorit of their answer that they feel happy seeing other people answers.

Just because you have an answer in mind doesn't mean you have the right answer, you should get input from many other people.

you? why are you asking this question..? is it really for you to know the answer or to make fun of someone?
