When you add the suffix -ese or -esa to a word (at least it was when I was a kid) it makes an adjective into a noun so something that is cool would be a cool-esa.

ESE is a suffix pertaining to citizens of a certain country--Japanese, Chinese, Burmese, etc. It also is a direction acronym for EAST SOUTHEAST.

ESA is computer language for Enhanced Suffix Array

esa o ese means that or that

edit...after submitting my answer i realised that you probably meant the slang "ese". like "¿que pasa esa?". ese means homeboy and esa is homegirl. so the the sentence "¿que pasa ese/a?" means "what's up homeboy/girl."
