JERRY LEWIS used the "f" word

No, it wouldn't cause me not to donate to MDA just because he's being a jerk. MDA is horrible. If they'd only let us do the stem cell research so many different diseases and things could be helped.

I've found that one of the best ways to donate to charity is to choose a person or family in your local area and give directly to them. This could be a family with a child afflicted with MD, an elderly person or simply a good family "down on their luck".

Jerry Lewis is not stupid. He knows perfectly well what he said and why he said it. His apology is insincere like all the other high-profile "entertainment-managed" apologies these personalities are forced to mumble.

Organized charity, much like organized religion is corrupted or tainted by greed and holier-than-thou self-appointed "gods".

Hence, if you want to get something done right, do it yourself. Donate direct !

When someone likes this representing the foundation. He should've been more respectful than acting like a comedian and not thinking before what he says. I years ago stood out along a highway helping out the fire department in my hometown taking donations from people who would come up and down the street. Jerry maybe you should retire and let the sane people run the show!!! RIP EVAN

I honestly don't think he intended any harm. People slip up and say things they shouldn't sometimes. He apologized, and you can tell if you see the video that he immediately knew he had made a mistake. He has done a lot of good for a lot of people and I think we should cut him some slack. I know I have used the word myself, not that it's ok, but like I said people slip up. It won't alter any donations I may or may not make in the future.

He also apologized for it. If someone apologizes, we should all accept the apology. Why should people with MD suffer due to this?

Here's what Jerry Lewis said: Lewis has now apologized "to anyone who was offended."

"I obviously made a bad choice of words. Everyone who knows me understands that I hold no prejudices in this regard," he added. "The success of the (telethon) and all the good that will come from it shouldn't be lost because of one unfortunate word. I accept responsibility for what I said. There are no excuses. I am sorry."
