Jobees - you asked this in CRICKET section... a bit obvious asking about a "DUCK" isn't it?
NO - I wouldn't like a duck -- especially a golden one. A Golden Duck is definitely an embarrassment.
By the way - This is my 7000th answer. Congratulations to you and me!

Hmm..... let's see.
In cricket DUCK=0
So if i am a batsman, then Duck is something that i would never like to have because it's a kind of humiliation for any batsman to get out for a duck. So all batsman from Sachin to Monty Panesar hate a duck. No batsman likes a duck.
Now let's think about it(duck) from the bowler's point of view. If i am a bowler & i get a batsman out for a duck then i will love it. It will be one more wicket in my records. So all bowlers love ducks because not only it gets them a wicket but trhat too very cheaply. It means they get a wicket without spending any money ( runs). So all bowlers from Murali-Sachin love a duck.

duck in cricket ... yes if I am bowling and not batting
ducking while batting ... good if I am saved from a beamer or bouncer .. bad if it is a slow pitch and hits my head.
duck as a bird enjoying the cricket match played down under, then only God can save them from Gilchrist and Symmonds ..
