they love nothing more than a good hearty meal of fresh caught chicken, duck, or whatever else they can get their grubby little paws on

same with raccoon - we lost 21 - 3 week old chicks and 7 - 2 week old ducklings because the little devils pried the door open

there's no good posssum or coon except a dead one

Possums don't eat chickens, if you see them near your coop, they are going for the food or eggs. Raccon's do though, but they only eat the breast out of the chicken. Use to have a couple in my backyard, possums were around but never went after the chickens.

A chicken can out run an opossum. I doubt that they would be able to catch one.

Opossums are scavengers and omnivores;they will eat anything they can get ahold of.

They eat carrion, ripe fruit, snails,and bugs.
