Perhaps the stones of love are actually hard....Diamonds.....the hardest of all stones....a symbol of lasting love...formed from something more coarse and soft...coal....that with time and the proper conditions becomes a diamond....Can we not hold for the same in our lives....a raw material...new love....which is soft, pliable, innocent and pure...can be tempered over time by life's trials and tribulations...to become a bright jewel that has been crystallized by trips on "the High Road" ...fired by passions that may flare and ebb and flare again but are always present, even if only as a small ember...and may be polished by the joys and successes of lives well lived...to become a rock that gives grounding and support....a love stone of the hardest crystal...built to last...not to crumble.....

Extremely hard and jagged. That is only after the there done being fluid and corrosively hot.
You have to be very careful or a lot of people can get hurt. Some even find them selves slaves to the constant chiseling; if the rock formation should unexpectedly not turn out quit right. Some get pined down and are force to gnaw their limbs off to get away. MOO-AW-AW!
On the other hand if your lucky enough, it all turns out for the best. It truly is hard to find the right person.

The stones built by love have to be very hard to withstand all the hardship in life and be able to go on and start anew again and again.
Those you love will understand.

The pillars of love must be strong. The stones that contribute to the pillars might not appear as hard as the pillars, but any pillar is as hard as its smallest member, the stone. The harder the stones are built by love, the harder becomes the pillars of love.

Hegel's
SCIENCE OF PHILOSOPHY
HOME OF THE SWEET ABSOLUTE
"Thus the life of God and divine cognition may well be spoken of as a disporting of Love with itself; but this idea sinks into mere edification, and even insipidity, if it lacks the seriousness, the suffering, the patience, and the labor of the negative." G.W.F. Hegel

They are as hard as rock and built upon rock and are the soundest where they lay.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative. If I have grip on my self, am I gripping my Will or my Judgment.

Soft as new toadstools blooming after rain; delicate but resilient. Hard as diamonds for strength, courage & calm when the one you love is dying from the inside out.
Edit: Interesting counterpoint; one a melody & the other noise.
Goldberry, beautifully stated, "..stone of the hardest crystal...not to crumble..."
#### How stupid is the idiot who who questioned the question.

soft as the petals of a blossoming rose. The petals so soft that even a light insect could easily tear; and If the rose is left un-tended, then these petals gradually start drooping and day by day weaken. If no action is taken, then the rose nolonger blossoms and instead fades away. Better take care of our "roses"!!!!!!!!
