The First Law (of all Sciences) is simply this:

No matter how ill-conceived, badly executed, or poorly interpreted,
*any* experiment will still be of value to the Scientific Community so long as it is well documented.
If nothing else, it can always serve admirably as a bad example ☺

there are lots of physical laws that govern the world. I've never herd of any one law being refered to as "the law of physics."

there are newtons laws of motion, basicly:

1 and 2) F = MA where f is force, m is mass and a is accereration.....yeah, the first law is just a special case of the second law where f = 0.

3) for every action there's an equal and oposit reaction

there's einstines matter/energy equavilance equation:
E=Mc^2

If I knew what your lab was about I could be of more help

I guess, you would want to know "Newton's Laws of Motion".

Sir Isaac Newton propounded three laws relating to motion of particles. These are

Law 1:
Every particle continues in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line except in so far as it be compelled by an external impressed force to change that state.

Law 2:
The change of motion or the rate of change of momentum is proportional to the impressed force and takes place in the direction of the straight line in which the force acts.

Law 3:
To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction.

Physics is the study of interaction between matter and energy.

The basic law is matter and energy can neither be created nor destroyed.

Infact ,this is called 'principle'. Based on this principle many laws of physics are framed.

What is meant by "the law of physics"? There are dozens of different laws and hundreds of theories. Which one are they referring to?

Are you actually teaching the class or taking it?
