I watched the Rachel Ray show today and she had Julia ..whatever (from Sienfield) on. She said that she loves these reality shows and thinks that these shows are going to take over regular shows like her new one. Do you agree with that?

I would rather see someone on Big Brother win $500,000 as opposed to an actor get paid another few million. THese people that are in these reality shows need and can use the money. As for these actors in these new shows comeing out, well.. NO BODY deserves that much money.

What do you think?

There are some good reality shows. I love the Amazing Race, and Survivor was cool but I am getting tired of that. I also watch America's Next Top Model and I was a big fan of Rock Star. But for every one good reality show there are so many more really bad ones, and I hate to see them overtake the airwaves as they really are not entertaining. And some of the sit coms and dramas they have come up with aren't much better, like the Gieko Cave Men.

I think there is room for both. And we should have both.
And I agree with you about the salaries of some of these actors it's ridiculous !
TV actors aren't as bad as those in the movies though. I still can't wrap my brain around an actor making $ 25 - 30 Million Dollars for doing a movie.

I don't think that Reality TV will ever take over television completely and do away with sitcoms and dramas. That would never work it would just be too much.

I had a lecturer as quickly as who replaced into additionally a travelling professor at a US college. sometime an offended pupil got here as much as him and demanded why he in effortless terms have been given a C for his paper. Did the professor no longer understand that he replaced into marking a directly As pupil? The professor took a rapid look on the paper and informed the pupil if he wanted an A he ought to have secure this, this, and that interior the solutions. the pupil, with a glance of astonishment, blurted, 'i could ought to examine those books to try this!' The prof purely spoke back, 'isn't that what you're meant to do?' however the offended pupil purely did no longer get it. Many British scholars interior the previous (US effect?) could have understood that. to three quantity this is cultural, yet i hit upon many individuals are insincere and could say 'intense-high quality' issues like 'Have a intense-high quality day!', 'you're swell!', without somewhat which ability them. Brits are directly practically to the element of being rude, yet while a spade's a spade, why call it something else. If somebody if somewhat ineffective at making a music, why tell them that they might have a occupation in the event that they attempt harder? If the president's a dumbo, why faux that he's the rest? there's a place and time for letting human beings down gently, yet no longer while doing so is purely blatant play-performing.

Think about it like this... the reason media created reality tv is because its CHEAP entertainment. Now your right... the "actors" don't get paid as much, but what do you think they do with the extra proceeds the shows realize without their huge acter payroles??? Do you think they donate them to the poor, or needy cancer victoms??? He ll no... it gets placed in the already big fat pockets of the media exects. Would you as a producer rather pay huge amounts on scripts... plots... etc. or place a camera in a room to record all the mindless blabble and collect the profits created without those pesky expenses? And another thing... everyone participating in those shows are actors.... this is just their big break and or beginning.

The Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales wrote an article and hosted a chat about this topic. He disagrees with you. Although I don't agree with Shales, his chat and column will make you examine your position.
