could be either one. I assume you play sports because of your s/n. orange juice and banannas are great sources of potassium which you need when your busting your butt in practice, low potassium can cause muscle aches and spasms. don't forget to drink lots of water, gatoraid is not enough, you need water!

Sounds like dehydration. Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with Mineral Water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration and the real key is the Mineral Water.
I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body.
Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.
Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.

Sounds like growing pains. Dehydration will hit your whole body - you'll feel tired and noodley and have bright flashes in your vision if it gets real bad. Like others have said, potassium is good for muscle cramps. Also iron will help as well, since it helps bring oxygen to your muscles.
When you're exercising, make sure you are getting PLENTY of water and some sports drink of your liking. I like Gatorade, but there are many out there. Sports drinks replace the things your body loses when you work out. Potassium is the biggie, but there are others as well. Also, given your age, you will likely benefit from iron - talk to your parents before taking iron or any other supplements.

You sound like you are growing..try eating bananas, they are high in potassium, and will eliminate the leg cramps. Muscles need the salt potassium to function normally and pain free, when there is a deficiency, you get let cramps. You lose potassium through urinating and sweating. Keep drinking lots of water, but eat potassium rich foods.

I personally think your growing. I got heavy cramps and stiffness on my legs before i shot taller. I think it will go away on its own. If its not that then just have more liquids and you should be fine. Have a nice day =)
