Elements are composed of the same atomic atoms/molecules. This means that every particle in an element has the same number of protons in the nucleus.
Compounds are composed of 2 or more elements (ie. different numbers of protons in the nucleus).
Hydrogen is an element. Water (H2O) is a compound.
Hope this helps! :)

Elements cannot be formed from other elements under usual conditions. Compounds are formed from elements by the sharing of electrons in bonds or the swapping of electrons to form ions. It is very difficult to reconstitute the elements from the compounds.

elements contain only the same type of atoms in its molecular structure.example are iron, copper and carbon.furthermore there're only about 137 elements in this universe known to human at present.
compounds contain combination of elements in its molecular structure.it can have 2 or more elements in it.examples are Carbon dioxide(carbon+oxygen), water(hydrogen+oxygen), salt(sodium+chlorine etc.
to simplify this:imagine elements as letters (A B C D ......Z) and compounds as words produced by combining the letters (elements) together.say:to produce the word ELEMENT the letters needed are E,L,M,N and T (to produce water elements needed are Hydrogen and Oxygen)

element is a substance which won't be able to ruin added.Compound is a substance inclusive of who or extra factors.as an occasion,Oxygen is a element.Hydrogen,helium,lithium,berylliu... all are factors.they are in a position to't be broken down extra.yet H20,HCL,CO2,H2SO4,CACAO3,K2Cr207...those all are compounds. Its sparkling that they consist better than one element.Like H2S04,it rather is having Hydrogen(element),Sulphur(element) and oxygen(element).hence it may ruin into those 3 constituent factors.
