I think it depends. I find that if the movie invades my thoughts and stays on my mind over a few days then I would have a nightmare if it was a horror movie. I think that's how dreams or nightmares happen for most of us. We obsess over an idea and them we imagine some of the possibilities of that Idea and then we dream about it. If the thoughts frighten you, you might have a nightmare.

If you are asking has this process happened to me lately, then no but it has since I was 18, I think anyways.

Yes, a German movie called 'das Experiment'. It's about how normal people can change completely and become monsters when they are given too much power. I had nightmares that this might happen to people I know, when they have to go to war for example. The thought that all your moral and ethical standards can disappear completely just because of a different environment scares me a lot.

Only if I go to sleep IMMEDIATELY after watching one or if I fall asleep with one on. Even when I do have nightmares, they aren't really scary, just a little weird, but nothing major like when I was a kid.

Once in a great while if the movie contained something bad happening to children, but nothing like it was when I was a kid.

Yes. Nothing has changed.
I have a vivid imagination, which often has me waking up with the sweats.
Even, covering my eyes with a pillow doesn't help, when it comes to the scary parts.
I never watch one alone.
