If you're talking about people who try to conceive, some relationships have so much in them that it begs to have someone small to share it with. With this experience, couples who are ready are able to feel an indescribable love, deeper than they've ever felt before. There's just something wonderful about being able to wake up thirty times a night and your only concern is for the little being crying for you, not all the sleep you've lost over the course of its life.

Frankly, it's the same reason people choose to marry, to enhance the love in their lives. Although there may be downs along with the ups, people desire that love and the ability to share it with another.

At least, that's why I have children. Everyone has their own reasons, but I think that most people who try to conceive feel about the same way.

Despite all the sleepless nights and worry when they go out i believe having a baby can be for selfish reasons (in a good way) the pleasure you get when they say their first word, take their first step, first day at school, get their first A at school meet their first boyfriend or just wont a hug from someone that loves them unconditionally. For some people its someone to share all the good times with.
Unfortunately there are some people that need their reproductive organs removed while they are still awake and be made to eat them.

I can't answer for anyone except myself. For me it was a decision to create a life with my husband and together share all the emotions involved in the miracle. Now that my son is here, I know I was meant to be a mommy and he betters me (if that makes sense?) Now somepeople have babies just because they didn't practice safe sex, or because it is a reason to stay home and collect, I wish they had a parenting test that people had to take before they could get pregnant. Hope my answers help.

Same reason your mom had you? Have you ever asked her? I asked my mom and she told me the reason she had me is because my dad wanted me. But the reason I had my kids was because I am an only child and I never had any brothers and sisters and I always wanted a big family that will be here for me and I could be there for them.. I wanted to come home to people who loved me and not come home alone. I love to play with my children everyday and I am never bored.. There all under 4 and I can't wait to see what they will be like when they grow up when there this much fun now. Your mom probably had you for all those same reasons.. For some one to love and take care of in hopes of one day to have that love and caress in return.

I had mine to give me a reason to be good and stay out of trouble. They keep me on the straight path. If I messed up in any way, I like to think it'd reflect back on them.

(and to change the channel when I lose the remote and don't feel like getting up)

The same reasons my parents had me. lol

ps, and we didn't have a tv with a remote back in those days.

I think I found a cure to the childhood obesity crisis. Take away the remotes!!!!.

All in good humor. But totally serious abot the tv thing.

To create a living, breathing human being out of love, commitment to the future and our own sense of what was right to do, with a little bit of God's miracles thrown in for good measure.

I had my son because my partner and I were ready to take that step in our relationship and we could provide him with the love and support he needs.

Too many people have children for the wrong reasons so I think it's very important to ask yourself this question before you decide to make such a huge life altering decision.

I can't speak for anyone but myself. The reason I want to have a baby is because I am in a committed, loving relationship, and I want to share that "something special" with my "someone special".

To continue their family legacy. To be able to see the fruits of their labor in their children and grandchildren etc. Everyone wants to start their own lineage.
