Emerging markets and the U.S. indexes such as SPY. Here is something you should know about emerging markets with ETFs. You might see where you paid foreign taxes on your 1099 statement. On the second page of your 1040 form you will see a place whre you can deduct foreign taxes. You can deduct up to $300. Since you don't see that foreign tax removed out of your account (just a price drop one day), you should just get an ETF just to take that deduction. I have EWZ (Brazil) and EWK (Belgium) myself. EWW is a poorly named ETF for Mexico, which is also hot right now.

" list of ETF's" is in the middle of the page.
Personally, I like EWA ( Australia)...loaded with nat resources and right at the doorstep of those " emerging " markets.

There's no such thing as a "good" ETF. There are ETF's to use within your "Asset Allocation" that also match your risk tolerance and time horizon.

In addition, asking strangers for investment "picks" is a bit dangerous. You don't know their qualifications or motives.

Good luck with that!
