Kind of normal. What I mean by that is this happens to alot of women but in most cases it means your body is screwed up and its gonna take sometime for everything to straighten back out and function right. In fact, it takes two full years after child birth for your body to be back to normal. Check with your doctor. You may need to go on some sort of birth control to help regulate your periods. It could also mean alot of other things for instince, a pregnancy[ the spotting] and then a miscarrige [ heavy bleeding off and on] or stress related. Id be seeing my doctor. If you start bleeding to the point of loosing a nice amount of blood Id try staying OFF my feet for awhile. Six months after a baby is still a "fresh" delivery. You may be going to hard on your body at this time.

Long lasting period or excessive bleeding is called menorrhagia. Though menorrhagia may be caused by other problems, such as fibroids, cysts, and tumors, there are two systems in the body that seem to have a particularly strong effect to amount of bleeding. One of the factors that specify how long will bleed last, is the endocrine system and the other is the liver. The thyroid plays a very important part in the endocrine system, and nourishing and balancing the thyroid should not be ignored especially if woman noticed long lasting periods. Again, as with PMS and cramps, you should include good food in your diet if you have noticed there is something wrong. Foods high in vitamins and trace minerals seem to promote good thyroid health, which is recommended for everyone. Seaweed and dark green leafy vegetables and root vegetables should be eaten, as well as whole grains. Good advice to reduce long lasting periods, cramps and menstrual problems is that you should also avoid red meats. Calcium-Rich Tea is recommended for PMS and cramps, and it would be a good choice for menorrhagia as well. This tea is also high in vitamins and minerals, especially iron and B12, which is important for blood count. If this continues, you should visit the doctor, he should check why does long lasting periods occurs in your case.

At six months post delivery... constant bleeding doesn't sound right. You should check in with your doctor. There could be something wrong. You don't want to chance hemorraging.
*Oh yeah I forgot something... when I had my baby the doctor told me about straining that area... by lifting or whatever. You could have damaged something, you don't know. You could very well be hemorraging. An emergency room visit wouldn't be objectable at this point... better safe than sorry.

Any bleeding that is over a month is abnormal. It needs to be checked. Have a transvaginal ultrasound and show the result to your OB-GYNE. There might be something wrong with your uterine lining and hopefully nothing wrong with your ovaries.

No. Go see the dr. Your hormones are going haywire. You cannot continue to bleed as you have been and not become anemic.

You might have what's known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
You can read about it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pcos
it's simple to take care of, your doctor will probably put you on birth control.

No, it is not, and it can be a symptom of something more dangerous, so I'd call my OB right away.
